Associate Welfare

Health is a State of Mind, Wellness is a State of Being

Banyan Tree is committed to the health, safety and welfare of our associates, guests, visitors, partners and stakeholders. A structured and coherent approach to Enterprise Risk Management with on-site inspections provide independent unbiased assessments and recommendations. The Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) is updated quarterly with guidance from the executive group risk committee.

A risk register is used to identify and manage risks and identify actions needed to bring risks to accepted levels. A quantitative readiness scorecard is used to measure each property’s preparedness level. Mandatory minimum requirements for all properties include: annual fire safety training to all associates, 30% of associates trained in CPR, and no-notice annual crisis simulation, security penetration and emergency response team exercises.

Our Goal

Our annual goal is to train all associates in fire awareness and for each property to complete CPR training for 30% of associates.

Having implemented tracking systems in 2019, we will report on workplace injuries and workdays lost in future reports.

Our Progress

We implemented our SafeSanctuary programme in June to support the health and wellbeing of associates and guests during the global pandemic. The health and safety of our associates is supported by a structured and coherent approach to Enterprise Risk Management. On-site inspections provide independent unbiased assessments and recommendations, with key concerns addressed on a quarterly basis by the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC).
