
Free Medication & H1N1 Virus Awareness Event
Commemorating the Republic of Indonesiaís Independence Day, the team at Laguna Bintan Resorts conducted a free medication drive and H1N1 virus and malaria awareness to about 60 needy local people on 15 August 2009, at Kota Baru Village.
This event involved two general practitioners, one child specialist doctor, one surgery specialist doctor, one pharmacist, and five nurses.
The event, conducted at 9am to 1pm, produced media exposure for Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts in daily newspapers such as Batam Pos, Batam TV and ANTARA Indonesian news.
Dr Eryanto (Head medical doctor at Sub District Teluk Sebong) reported and treated the the sixty local villagers who attended the awareness session as follows:
Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) | : 46 patients |
Gastritis | : 28 patients |
Hypertension | : 28 patients |
Dermatitis | : 20 patients |
Hinge diseases | : 15 patients |
Ganglion operation | : 1 patient |
Nail extraction | : 1 patient |
