Art and Ecology Lessons at Local School
An art / ecology lesson is imparted in a local school at Vida y Esperanza; a local community located at 17 km. from the Banyan Tree Mayakoba Hotel. A total of 15 students attend this class offered once a month. They have the opportunity to learn basic art skills; they are also learning all about the local environment, native animals, native plants and even how to separate waste for recycling and composting.
The lessons are imparted by 2 Banyan Tree Mayakoba associates Ernesto Gavarrain, training coordinator and Paola Rubio, CSR Manager and biologist of the hotel.
At this time we are hoping to expand the amount of lessons as well as many associates want to be a part of this initiative.
