Angsana Maldives Velavaru
Introduction
Opened in 2006, this 79-villa resort is located on the Dhaalu Atoll (South Nilandhe Atoll). It is a location popular for its beautiful coral reefs. An abundance of sea life adds to the unspoilt beauty of the area – sheer bliss for marine and diving enthusiasts.
Responsible Development
During construction, we were particularly careful in transferring building materials in small boats and barges that navigated the reefs without threatening the delicate marine life.
In late 2006, the second Banyan Tree Maldives Marine Lab was established in Velavaru, aiming to understand and safeguard the diverse Maldivian reefs and ocean.
