Academic Collaborations for the Environment

In 2015, Banyan Tree Global Foundation established a new association with Newcastle University, a public research university with campuses in the UK, Malaysia and Singapore and a long history of tropical social and environmental research. Newcastle University is one of the UK’s leading international universities and a member of the Russell Group, which represents 24 leading research-intensive UK universities that have strong links with business and the public sector. This group of world-class universities has huge social, economic and cultural impacts around the globe.

This new partnership formalises the opportunity for academics and students to conduct research at Banyan Tree locations, to help inform local management and conservation initiatives with the goal of putting our environmental efforts at the forefront of global conservation.
